Our story
Home of the Hanks family ancestors since before 1500 and somewhere Kim and Whit have loved exploring for many years - it’s no surprise that they wanted to bring their love for hospitality into Malmesbury through the restoration of historic properties.
Our owners
Following the purchase of The Old Bell Hotel in 2021, Kim and Whit Hanks purchased Abbey House Manor and its five acres of gardens. Working alongside bodies such as Historic England, the pair are on a mission to retain the property’s integrity and rich history, with exciting plans for both projects.
Abbey House Manor
The 16th-century, Grade I listed house is not currently open, but Kim and Whit have plans to lovingly restore the house into a luxury hotel. For now, you can enjoy this marvellous historic building from the outside whilst wandering through the grounds.
